🌿Hand-Painted Encapsulated Moody Valley Landscape Necklace, One of a Kind

This Moody Valley landscape necklace was meticulously hand painted using fine brushes and glass enamels, then encapsulated beneath a layer of crystal clear glass and kiln fired to permanently fuse the image. This process creates a subtle lensing effect, adding depth and dimension so the scene appears softly suspended within the glass.

The encapsulation requires additional kiln firing and careful temperature control, resulting in a luminous, miniature world within the glass.

✨ Glass: Hand-painted glass enamels encapsulated beneath crystal clear art glass with a base of white glass.
📏 Pendant Size: Approximately 15mm wide x 24mm tall, including the bail

🤍 Materials: Antiqued brass plated wire and chain, nickel-free

🎨 Process:
My jewelry-making process begins by painting the design directly onto the surface of the glass using glass enamels. Once the painting is complete, a layer of crystal clear glass is placed over the design and kiln-fired to encapsulate the image and create added depth. After firing at temperatures up to 1500°F, the glass is carefully shaped and cold-worked using diamond abrasives. A small groove is ground along the edge of the glass using a diamond disk, creating a secure channel for the wire setting.

Each necklace arrives in a Weathered Heather Jewelry box, wrapped in tissue paper and ready for gifting.

🗒️ Please Note:
Small bubbles visible within the glass are known as “champagne bubbles” and are a natural characteristic of kiln-formed glass. Measurements are approximate. Colors may vary slightly due to monitor settings.
